Will Strength In Dollar And Interest Rates Stop?

In the metal market, gold was up slightly for the month, so far - it's only the fifth. So, we had just a few trading days, and remember again, we don't have a full trading week. Jimmy Carter's observance day is January 9th, the stock markets won't be open. Most commodity markets won't either, they'll be closed during the day sessions. When you look at the gold market though, it is fighting a big battle right at the 18-week average at $2649 and a half. You're over that by about five dollars on the close.

You can see how the market is suddenly going sideways on you. The pattern turned bullish this week with the market having higher highs, higher lows - you had an outside week up.
