Bob Moriarty, founder of 321gold.com, returns with Listener's Q&A, insights on the financial markets and wishes viewers a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
- Commentary on gold and silver mining shares.
Moriarty states:
"Markets (and it's not just gold markets) hate going straight up. Gold shot higher. It made a new high. I think it actually touched $2152. And then it dropped and that's perfectly normal.
I believe (an opinion) it's perfectly normal correction – it could last for another week or two. And then we're gonna go higher."
He continues:
"Markets go up and markets go down. And if you buy things, when they're cheap and sell them when they're expensive, you can make a lot of money. Gold shares compared to gold are especially cheap. Gold shares compared to the normal stock market are especially cheap. And gold shares in comparison to commodities are cheap...and that's when you want to buy. When they get expensive, I'll tell people.
On gold and silver shares being underappreciated:
- Is the global financial system at risk of default due to unregulated derivatives exposure?"Well, it's starting to change...when gold took off 2 weeks ago, the top 3 gold companies in the world increased their market cap by 6 billion dollars in one day. There is a lot of money on the sidelines waiting to go into gold shares...and we're in the tax loss selling season – that's going to last through this week...and the artificial pressure on gold shares will stop this week and I think everybody is going to be surprised."
